Today we only hiked 1 1/2 hours, because it was a bit hot, and we did not have as much time. We parked at the West Lot, which is what we do, if we want to stay mostly in the trees. We started off on the Chinquapin trail, where it starts near the old wash house.
Along the trail is a bench at an outlook, which is above our favorite waterfalls. There is an unusual looking tree there.
From there we got on to the Shawnee Run Trail, which goes by our favorite waterfall.
Along the way, just before you get to the falls, there is a trail leading up to the Tanyard trail, on the right.
Here is a different view from the waterfalls.
On past the waterfalls, on the Shawnee Run trail, you can cross the creek on stepping stones, if the creek is not way up.
We crossed the creek again, and at the following crossing after that we came on some reflections.
We went on up the hill past the split in the trail, to the right, is the Shawnee Run trail, and we went straight, up to the West Lot trail.
There are a lot of lovely flowers along the way.
Just a couple more pictures along the West Lot trail. I have a lot more, which I may post at another time.
Beautiful
